Preventive use of probiotics results in less need of antibiotics?

A systematic review published in European Journal of Public Health concludes that healthy children who consumed probiotics were 29% less likely to need antibiotics as compared to those who got placebo. The probiotics used were different strains of the genus Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.
