What I enjoy most about working at BioGaia is the company’s commitment to innovation and scientific excellence. It is rewarding to be part of a team that is driven by research and a shared passion for improving the health and well-being of people worldwide. What stands out for me is hearing stories at conferences and tradeshows about how our probiotics have become a trusted, every day part of so many households, and the positive impact they have on people’s lives. As a Marketing and Analytics Manager, every day brings new challenges and opportunities to innovate. The most exciting part of my role is that is connects me with a diverse group of professionals, ranging from social media influencers to KOLs, each contributing a fresh perspective and pushing me to think outside the box.

As a Research Manager at BioGaia, I have the opportunity to stay close to the science as part of the preclinical team known as Discovery. We are the ones with the deepest knowledge of BioGaia’s bacterial strains. My responsibility is to coordinate our preclinical research and collaborations. Additionally, I create ‘mechanistic stories’ for our strains by gathering and synthesizing data. This data is then either developed into scientific papers or adapted to convey scientific messages in a way that is easily understood by a broader audience. BioGaia is an exciting company where a lot is happening, and where there is room to take initiative. We’re currently in a fairly dynamic phase, with several new strains and products in the pipeline. I am personally passionate about research and about contributing to products that can help people — a motivation I see reflected throughout BioGaia.

In the role of Scientist Microbiology, the tasks are very varied — which is what I like the most. I think it’s a perfect mix of hands-on lab work and computer-based work. I get to take a lot of responsibility for what I do and how I do it, and I can plan my time independently. My role includes developing microbiological analysis methods for our different products, introducing new techniques to the lab, conducting investigations, and general problem-solving. What I find interesting is that I’m constantly learning and developing, while at the same time contributing with important methods to help analyze our products. One of the things I value most about working at BioGaia is the sense of purpose — knowing that my work contributes to people’s health and well-being. That, combined with the positive work environment and the joy of seeing my colleagues each day, makes it a truly fulfilling place to work.

I’ve had several roles in Marketing at BioGaia, but the role of Education and Congress Manager is particularly fun because I get to interact with the people who recommend our products. It’s very much a project management role, so most days involve keeping projects moving forward and coordinating with colleagues or external experts. Each congress or training session is a goal achieved, a project completed — and that’s definitely motivating. You get a real buzz every time the outcome of an event exceeds expectations. What I appreciate with BioGaia is that we work internationally with healthcare professionals and partners all over the world. The colleagues and the warm, family-like atmosphere — which has been maintained despite our rapid growth in recent years — are also major reasons why I enjoy working here.
