L. reuteri killed superbug in laboratory

A study with Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis DSM 17938 indicated that a species of the probiotic genus Lactobacillus may kill an antibiotic resistant bacterium. The findings are significant because they may enable prophylactic treatment with probiotics before taking antibiotics, which are know to disrupt good bacteria in the gut.  Read full article here
