About the role
The role of Product Development Manager is a full-time position based in Eslöv, Sweden, with a required on-site presence of at least three days per week.
As a Product Development Manager at BioGaia, you will work in a highly cross-functional environment. You will be involved throughout the entire development process, from clinical trials to commercial product launch. Your main tasks will be:
· Leading product development from raw materials to finished products, from small-scale trials in the Product Development laboratory to commercial manufacturing at selected CMOs and other third parties.
· Acting as Technical Project Manager in cross-functional product development projects, from clinical trial products through commercialization.
· Continuously gathering information on potential new ingredients, dosage forms and packaging materials to ensure a steady pipeline of new products
· Participating in product maintenance forums to help ensure that commercial products remain compliant and that processes and materials are fit for purpose
· Evaluating theoretical and practical product concepts, indications and potential improvements
· Networking with various parties, e.g. conferences, seminars and suppliers, to identify new opportunities for BioGaia
· Collaborating cross-functionally with other BioGaia departments as needed.
· Working with Procurement to identify, evaluate and qualify contract manufactures.
· Serving as the technical point of contact with suppliers and manufacturers when necessary and as agreed with Procurement or other stakeholders.
· Supporting consumer driven innovation in collaboration with Product Manager and Innovation Manager to ensure technical feasibility.
· Participating in the Clinical Study Product forum, contributing to the development and manufacturing of products for clinical purposes
Required Qualifications:
· MSc in a relevant field such as Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in product/formulation development of solid dosage forms, such as tablets, lozenges and hard capsules, within dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals.
· Experience working with external CMOs, scientists, universities or similar stakeholders.
· Experience in project management
· Experience in consumer driven innovation
· Experience working in cross functional teams
· Fluency in English and/or Swedish
· Creative, solution-oriented and action-oriented
· Proactive mindset
